Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary are a registered charity dedicated to providing a safe haven for horses, ponies and other large animals in crisis.

The sanctuary resides at the very picturesque Horse Shepherd Park just out of Gordon Victoria.

The sanctuary is open to the public for guided walking tours where you can meet and interact with the animals in their care. You will have the opportunity to meet the cheeky goats, see the peacocks preening, view a rare breed of horse and perhaps even steal a kiss from a camel. There are many other animals for you to meet and enjoy and of course lots of horses.

The sanctuary also runs other fundraising events that can be viewed on the website.

All proceeds from farm walks and fundraising events go towards the feed and care of the animals.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
