Bami Vietnamese is not just a restaurant. It is Vietnam on a plate.

Born from a simple belief that Australian tables deserved more colour, more freshness, and more story, Bami Vietnamese has grown from a single store into a 20 plus location network across Victoria and South Australia. Every store carries the same promise: food made fresh when you order, every single time.

The menu is rooted in the street food culture of Vietnam. Banh mi hand-filled to order. Pho broth slow-built from scratch. Rice paper rolls assembled fresh by hand. Wok dishes to order. Everything on the menu comes from a place, a tradition, and a story that stretches back centuries.

At Bami Ballarat they go one step further. The restaurant is home to Australia's first Vietnamese cultural mini museum inside a restaurant. Authentic Vietnamese artefacts, UNESCO recognised cultural instruments, and the stories of the people who carried Vietnamese culture across oceans to build a new life in Australia. Every dish on their menu carries a name connected to its cultural origin. Scan the QR codes on the museum wall and discover the history behind every bowl, every roll, and every bite.

They did not just bring Vietnamese food to Australia. They brought Vietnam itself. Come hungry. Leave with a story.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
