The Two Hour Ride: Creswick Classic

Wanting a testing but fun two-hour loop?

This is the well-known Creswick loop for both local racers and cycling enthusiasts alike as it offers a bit of everything!

Park the bikes on the racks at the popular bike-friendly Racers Bar & Cafe and enjoy some breakfast or a coffee before heading off.

The first 30-45 minutes will make you work hard as you head over all the local hills.

After that, it’s smooth sailing ahead so enjoy the dense forestry as you wind into Creswick.

You’ll be an hour in by here so you can either stop and explore the cosy comforts Creswick has to offer or power straight through!

Once you take a left and hit Gillies Street, hopefully you have a tail wind and can put the sail up!

It’s dead straight into Ballarat from here with some rolling hills.

You’ll be hard pressed to take the Strava segments off the local racers along here but rally some mates and give it a crack!

Once you hit Ballarat, you’ll be heading back towards Lake Wendouree, where you can finish off at the Ballarat Yacht Club for a coffee and muffin or some lunch by the lake.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
