Run the Ballarat Marathon in 2024

A world-class road running festival will take to the streets of Ballarat in 2024.

The inaugural Ballarat Marathon will be held across the weekend of 27-28 April, with two days of running for all ages and abilities.

Open to both elite and recreational athletes, the event’s course line-up will include:

  • the mile
  • 5km
  • 10km
  • half marathon
  • marathon

Up for grabs is an impressive $50,000 prize pool, with time bonuses of up to $3000 for the winners of the women’s and men’s marathons.

Each of the courses been measured to World Athletics and AIMS standards.

This means you can run a qualifying time in Ballarat to get into the ballot for an iconic event like the New York or Boston Marathons, or officially break an existing distance record.

Early bird registration for the various walk, run and race options is open until 28 January.

Structured training plans have been put together by the experts from Ballarat-based RADCentre. They start on Monday, 8 January 2024 and can be found here.
