SpringFest Ballarat is back and bigger than ever!

Community

The iconic SpringFest and it’s Market Sunday has been a highlight on Ballarat’s event calendar since 1994.

SpringFest is back for 2023 in a fresh new location – the Gardens Precinct. Stretching along Lake Wendouree from Carlton Street to St Aidans Drive, this new area will be bursting with SpringFest fun!

On the day you’ll be tempted as you browse an incredible array of stalls (over 450 – you can view the list here) while you enjoy an array of musical performances and taste delicious treats. Plus there’s loads of activities for the kids.

The Ballarat Tramway Museum

The Ballarat Tramway Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm during SpringFest with a special entry rate of $5 for all visitors. The museum will host children activities, including a model railway display – thanks to the Ballarat and District Model Railway Club.  There will be trams on display out the front of the museum, where you can purchase food, drinks and Tramway souvenirs.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
