Join award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Ade Vincent for a live preview of his upcoming album A.WAKE and the debut public performance of the project.

Bringing together piano, voice, recorders and electronics, A.WAKE moves between intimate piano miniatures, pulsing electronic rhythms and cinematic soundscapes – much of it built live through looping.

Vincent has written and performed music with ensembles including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, previously fronted indie-pop band The Tiger and Me, and will appear with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra later this year.

Created over two years, A.WAKE draws together Vincent's experience in concert music, songwriting and electronic production into a distinctive new body of work. Much of the album was written on an upright piano passed from his grandfather to his father, and then to him, its character and imperfections helping to shape the music.

Before festival performances later this year, A.WAKE is presented here in an intimate setting.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
