The 2026 Begonia Display has been designed and installed by the Ballarat Botanical Gardens Nursery team.

The display features begonias from both the tuberous and non-tuberous collections, with around 600 upright and cascading begonias creatively arranged to produce encompassing walls of colour.

2026 Display

A ‘Symphony of Begonias’ is designed to feel rich, layered, and co-ordinated, much like a well-composed piece of music.

The 2026 display showcases upright and cascade begonias alongside a selection of non-tuberous begonias to highlight the diversity of the collections. A central pyramid arranged in single-colour rows creates height and strong visual impact, supported by raised planter boxes filled with block-colour upright begonias. Walls of Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ add a soft, silvery contrast to enhance the vibrant begonia colours, and butterfly props filled with bright bedding begonias form creative focal points that tie the display together.

The begonia display is on show in the Robert Clark Conservatory at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens during the 2026 Ballarat Begonia Festival and will remain open for a minimum of four weeks.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
