This exhibition honours two of the artist's favourite visual aesthetics - Impressionism and cyberpunk - through combining stylistic elements of both.
Leah Torly has created a series of cityscapes that incorporate a high-contrast blend of vibrant, electric neon hues with dark tones, bold brush strokes and a focus on light and reflections.
Through using a combination of these elements to depict urban environments and neon-lit cityscapes, Leah's work acknowledges how the 19th century Impressionist art movement compliments the futuristic aesthetic of cyberpunk.
Leah Torly is an emerging artist working and living on Wadawurrung Country. Leah experiments with appropriation art and subverts traditional art styles and techniques to blend them with her own style, which is heavily influenced by Impressionism and Expressionism.
