Central Highlands Water at the Ballarat Begonia Festival

  • 7–9 Mar

10am–5pm

Central Highlands Water (CHW) is a proud partner of the 2026 Ballarat Begonia Festival.

Central Highlands Water will share information about the smart, safe and sustainable delivery of the region’s water that reaches over 160,000 members of our community every day. Community members will be able to see a display showcasing the ongoing investment across the region, as part of the Water Efficiency Program, by viewing Mrs. Jones house display and junior activity space. The site will showcase the popular ‘Water and Native Animal’ art display painted by local kindergartens and primary schools. The canvas paintings formed part of an education competition with entrants invited to paint their best interpretation of a selected native animal, with water, on a canvas print. The aim is to promote awareness of native animals across our region and educate everyone, on the role they play in the ecosystem and how water is essential for all forms of life.

The Choose Tap reusable stainless-steel drink bottles, including the new begonia bottle and First Nations Ballarat Miners bottle, will be available for purchase at this years festival, with 100% of proceeds from sales donated to local community partner, Cafs.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
