Christmas begins at Sovereign Hill!

Sovereign Hill is throwing open the doors for their most popular community event, Christmas Shopping Night.

This night is Sovereign Hill’s way of giving back to you – the heart of the community – with free entry, a one-stop shop for ticking off your Christmas gift list, and access to iconic experiences usually reserved during the day like candle dipping, gold panning, confectionary demonstrations, and more.

Wander through market stalls and stores brimming with festive treats, locally made gifts, and classic Sovereign Hill goodies (think personalised Raspberry Drops, sweets, candles, and other treasures).

Let the kids explore the adventure play space, and head to the Red Hill Photographic Rooms for a selfie with St Nick himself. Main Street will come alive with festive cheer as carollers fill the air with holiday tunes and live music sets the perfect Christmas vibe.

When you’re ready for a break, grab a bite and a drink at the fully licensed café, the Prospectors Table, or bars. And don’t miss the Hope Bakery for all your favourite Christmas treats!

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
