Itinerant Spirits in Ballarat invites travellers seeking memorable experiences, exceptional cocktails and insight into spirits distilling to join its immersive Cocktail Making Class.

Designed for visitors who love hands-on creativity, the class introduces participants to the foundations of Gallivanter Gin & Vansetter Vodka while guiding them through the craft of mixology with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

The experience begins with a refreshing gin or vodka mixer before guests explore the story and techniques behind the distillery's signature spirits. Under expert instruction, participants create two cocktails using premium ingredients, learning balance, flavour and skill in an intimate, education-focused setting. Small class sizes ensure personalised guidance and plenty of opportunity to master each step.

Ideally positioned opposite Ballarat Station, the distillery is a 30-second walk from train arrivals and provides free onsite parking, making access easy for visitors travelling by car or public transport. The location places guests within a short walk of Ballarat's gold-rush landmarks and a convenient 10-minute drive to Sovereign Hill, Lake Wendouree and the Art Gallery of Ballarat. Fully accessible facilities support stress-free planning, while the venue's commitment to sustainability, through locally grown grains, hand-foraged botanicals and adaptive re-use of heritage architecture adds meaningful depth to the experience.

Perfect for a weekend escape or regional road trip, this class invites travellers to discover craft, flavour and history in one destination.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
