Free- Community Program

The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, in partnership with City of Ballarat, is proud to bring Daughters of the West back to Ballarat in 2026.

Daughters of the West is a free 10-week health and wellbeing program designed to support women aged 18+ to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing while building meaningful connections within their community.

More than just a health program, Daughters of the West combines:

  • Free fitness and movement sessions suitable for all fitness levels
  • Expert-led education focused on health, wellbeing and lifestyle
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Opportunities for social connection, friendship and belonging
  • A welcoming and inclusive environment for women of all ages and backgrounds
  • Built on the power of sisterhood, the program creates a supportive space where women can prioritise their wellbeing, build confidence and connect with others in their local community.

"Daughters of the West gave me the confidence to prioritise my health and connect with an amazing group of women. The friendships and support I've found have been life changing." — DOTW Participant

Daughters of the West will also be run at Wendouree.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
