They invite you to join the community as everyone comes together to remember and honour the brave diggers and soldiers who gave their lives during the Battle of the Eureka Stockade on 3 December 1854. Together, everyone will reflect on their courage and celebrate the lasting legacy they left behind.
This ceremony, marking the 171st anniversary of the battle, features speeches, the appearance of costumed volunteers from Friends of Sovereign Hill, a bagpipe procession to the Diggers' and Soldiers' historic graves, the reading of the names of those killed in the battle, and the raising of flags at each site.
They also acknowledge the contributions of the men, women, and children of Eureka to the democracy.
Any changes to the program will be posted on their social media accounts.
