An intergenerational participatory workshop facilitated by Megan J Riedl.

Let your imaginations loose in this collaborative world-building session, where a simple prompt sparks everyone's collective ideas to bring forth a unique, complex and fantastical new narrative world. Participants then create a character to inhabit the world, and take them on an adventure through a series of creative activities including improvisational role-play, poetry, prose writing, and visual arts. Build skills in improvisational performance, world-building and character development.

Suitable for creative adults and kids aged 12+ with an interest in performing, writing, storytelling, comics, fantasy and role-play gaming.

No prior experience is necessary, and we are a neuro-affirming space with a break-out space and an assistant facilitator to support folks needing a break or extra help. Support workers or parent helpers are welcome to accompany clients or their child - please email Megan hello@meganjriedl.com to discuss your needs.

Discount Price is applicable for individual members of Ballarat Performing Arts Centre (BPAC), or those with a valid financial membership of a BPAC member organisations.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
