Kilderkin Distillery's Spirited Sessions present a night with Aussie artist Rufous Whistler.

Rufous Whistler's debut album, National Panic, debuted at #2 on the ARIA Country charts in March 2025 and earned itself best debut album nomination from Folk Alliance Australia, as well as ABC Country's Feature Album of the Week.

With international airplay, a gripping live show, and a strong grassroots fan base from their love of being on the road, the band's blend of folk and alt-country is resonating deeply with audiences.

Hailing from Northeast Victoria (Wiradjuri Country), Rufous Whistler combines raw storytelling with modern alt-country arrangements, reminiscent of I'm With Her's harmonies, Gillian Welch's storytelling, and the energy of Trampled by Turtles. This is alt-country music that hits home and leaves you wanting more.

Rated in the top five live music venues by the Australian Good Food Guide, Kilderkin Distillery offers the perfect venue for live and intimate performances. With award winning spirits, light meals, craft beer, wine and soft drinks available at bar prices, you'll love your Spirited Session at Kilderkin.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
