Step into the heart of the Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod and experience the Australian Catholic University Speech, Drama and Comedy Competition, where emerging performers take the stage and bring stories to life.

As part of Australia's largest youth performing arts pathway and one of its most prestigious eisteddfods, this event invites audiences to enjoy an inspiring showcase of talent in the welcoming atmosphere of Ballarat.

Enjoy a vibrant program of poetry recitations, character pieces, improvisation, mime, stand-up comedy and more. With expert adjudicators and a relaxed, supportive setting, every session offers something unique for visitors.

This is where young performers build confidence, refine their craft and share their passion, and a supportive audience makes all the difference. Don't miss the Louie Dunn Award, the premier award for Speech, Drama and Comedy, on 28 August where the very best performers are invited to compete in a showcase of outstanding talent.

Take a seat, show your support and be part of the experience, your applause truly matters.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
