Tassels and Tummies: A Fat Burlesque is a bold, celebratory cabaret that centres fat bodies as powerful, desirable, and artistically vital.

The show features a rotating line-up of local and interstate performers working across burlesque, cabaret, and variety, each bringing their own style, politics, and joy to the stage.

More than a strip show, Tassels and Tummies is a reclaiming of space. It challenges narrow beauty standards and the marginalisation of fat performers within traditional cabaret and burlesque contexts, offering audiences an experience that is joyful, unapologetic, and deeply embodied.

Expect high production values, strong audience connection, and performances that range from sensual and playful to defiant and emotionally resonant.

The show is inclusive, accessible, and community-focused, designed to make both performers and audiences feel seen, celebrated, and welcome.

Come and have a lush experience at the beautiful countryside setting of the Buninyong Town Hall.

Attendees must be 18 years and over. This show contains nudity and adult themes.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
