Ballarat's own courageous WWI story of Lucas Factory Girls banding together in extreme suffering to support each other and their town by tirelessly raising huge amounts of funds to plant a trees for every serviceman and woman and bring back hope to a despairing community,. Also of the women facing jail and physical violence to save thousands on men's lives by defeating conscription. .This play comes from its hugely successful season in Herstory Arts Festival at Sydney Theatre Company Wharf 2.
