The Victorian Goldfields World Heritage Bid is collaborating with filmmakers and storytellers Tim Webster and Ilana Rose to engage with goldfields communities to explore the significance of this region to its residents. Their short pilot film, Voices of the Goldfields, artistically highlights the cultural heritage of the goldfields through the eyes of its people.
During the Ballarat Heritage Festival, the Voices of the Goldfields display will be showcased at Art Hub, where visitors have the opportunity to watch the film and explore the stories and characters featured in it.
Attendees can also learn more about the Victorian Goldfields World Heritage bid aim of securing World Heritage status for this remarkable place. This initiative offers insights into the World Heritage listing process, the potential socio-economic benefits it can bring, and how residents of the goldfields can contribute by sharing their own stories.
