A live performance event celebrating the multitude of experiences around birth, in/fertility and pregnancy. Participants will take the stage, one after another, to share their testimony as an act of courage, rebellion and empowerment. This is a topic so rarely spoken of, yet so incredibly common. It's time to remove the shackles of shame and talk, so that if anything, you realise you are not alone.

Unwoman (The Protest) turns the spotlight on all kinds of people. Those with children and without. Those who wanted them and couldn't. Those who didn't want them so didn't. Those who forgot.

It is a primal scream, a moment of reflection, an occasion for joy and a call to arms at the laws attempting to curb bodily autonomy and reproductive rights.

Be a part of an individually empowering experience and collective encounter. Sign up to deliver your own testimony or come along as an audience member to witness this special event. Audiences can stay for as long or as little as you want.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
