A public lecture by Dr Meg Tasker about the radical author, poet and journalist Francis Adams (1862-1893) and the contribution he made to an emerging Australian radical literary canon.

Dr Meg Tasker explores the life and work of Francis William Lauderdale Adams (1862-93) and considers his contribution to the radical Australian literary canon. Adams' published work, including the Eureka-inspired poem The Australian Flag (1888), captured a hope for the democratic principles of a newly forming national identity.
