Hosted by Bronwyn Blaiklock, Chisholm St is an intimate foray into fascinating corners of classical music. The platform features performers based in Ballarat and the region in an annual concert series, an eclectic program with an ethos of shared inspiration. The intimate space gives audiences a rare glimpse into creative music-making, up close and personal.

The 20 & 21 March features the Inscape piano trio at 6.00 pm each night. Inscape brings together three distinctive artistic voices: Varvara Vakhrameeva (violin), Lachlan Dent (cello) and Richard Chew (piano). ‘Inscape’ is the essential inner nature of a person, a place or a living thing, particularly as expressed in a work of art.

In this concert, Inscape will play music from their upcoming debut recording, 'Hiraeth', which was written for the ensemble by Richard Chew.

The audience is invited to stay after the performance, meet the musicians and enjoy a glass of wine and refreshments as part of the ticket.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
